The Impact of School Shoes.
A proper pair of school shoes ensures that learners can focus on their education without the distraction of discomfort.
Many students at Chief Jerry Nkosi High School lack basic school supplies, including proper shoes. These are not just items but essential tools that empower children to learn, grow, and envision a brighter future.
The Star Foundation helped restore dignity to 140 learners at the school by donating school shoes and socks.
According to SA Good News, many children miss school because walking long distances without proper shoes is too painful. Inadequate footwear can lead to serious health issues, including ingrown toenails, back and neck pain and spinal misalignments. These physical challenges can also negatively affect academic performance.
Beyond physical health, not having school shoes impacts a child’s sense of dignity and belonging. A complete uniform, including proper shoes, fosters pride and confidence, allowing students to feel equal to their peers. Without this, children may experience embarrassment and social isolation, further affecting their education.
We believe every child deserves access to education, regardless of their socio-economic background.
