UPDATE: 17 APRIL 2023
We did it! LottoStar’s loyal players raised R4 Million for Lambano Sanctuary with LottoStar matching every cent donated.
Lambano Sanctuary was established in 2001 as an NGO to assist those who are affected and infected with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases in South Africa.
When the organization was established, at least 4,1 million South Africans lived with HIV/AIDS. This resulted in the need for the organization to intervene.
Lambano Sanctuary specializes in providing care for children infected with the virus and other terminal illnesses and offers support to their families by providing basic needs.
To date, Lambano Sanctuary has four homes that care for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses. The children are provided with antiretroviral (ARV) medication in these homes.
As a result of their experience dealing with sick children, the sanctuary decided to open a paediatric medical facility or hospice in Gauteng. This facility will care for children affected by and living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
Lambano Sanctuary relies heavily on donations. The Star Foundation and LottoStar aim to raise R4 Million which will go towards the medical costs of running the paediatric hospice facility.
LottoStar will match any donations received from its donors.
