The Story
The Journey
It's not just about filling tummies but it's about filling souls with warmth and joy.
In the spirit of compassion, The Star Foundation is excited to team up with the Frida Hartley Shelter to host a soup kitchen.
The Frida Hartley Shelter, established in 1992, has been a beacon of hope for women facing homelessness and adversity. It was named after the remarkable social worker, Frida Hartley. The shelter tirelessly works towards providing a safe haven for women and children who find themselves in challenging situations. Over the years, it has become a symbol of resilience and community support, offering more than just shelter by fostering empowerment and independence.
The shelter goes beyond providing temporary housing. Moreover, it runs a variety of programs designed to address the holistic needs of its residents. From vocational training to mental health support, the Frida Hartley Shelter is committed to equipping women with the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Educational initiatives, counselling services and skill-building workshops are just a few examples of the comprehensive support the shelter offers to empower residents on their journey to self-sufficiency.
At The Star Foundation, we believe in the power of collaboration to make a positive impact. At the recent soup kitchen event, we were excited to contribute not only nourishing meals but also a sense of warmth. Our dedicated team, along with volunteers served delicious, hearty soups to the shelter's residents and staff.
On our recent excursion, we were reminded of the impact that small acts of kindness can have on those facing challenging circumstances. By joining forces with the Frida Hartley Shelter, The Star Foundation hopes to inspire others to come together and support those in need.
