The Star Foundation decked the halls and brought festive cheer to The Johannesburg Children’s Home in Observatory for a Christmas party.

Established in the heart of Johannesburg in 1892, The Johannesburg Children’s Home is the oldest charitable institution in Gauteng. The aim of the institution is to assist every child in distress from their circumstances. The institution has become a beacon of hope for several children.

Many of the children do not have good memories to hang on to. All they remember is fear, trauma and hurt, hence The Star Foundation brought on the festive cheer to lift their spirits to kick off the Christmas celebrations.

Each child was called by name to receive a personalized gift from under the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The gifts consisted of graphic t-shirts, bucket hats, sliders and water bottles with their names on it.

Laughter and cheerful conversations filled the air as the children enjoyed their special Christmas lunch, surrounded by newfound friends and caring volunteers.

The festivities continued outdoors, with a jumping castle and water slide. Promising an afternoon of endless fun. The Star Foundation together with Lotto Star staff members joined in, to make sure every child had an amazing time!

As the day drew to a close, The Star Foundation’s Christmas Initiative not only brought smiles and laughter to the children, but also ignited a spark of hope and happiness.
