From 15 September to 3 October 2025, LottoStar and 947 brought the thrill of Big September three powerful weeks of big prizes, with entrants playing for a purpose. With R1 million in cash up for grabs every weekday, it wasn’t just about winning — it was about making a life-changing difference.

In partnership with The Star Foundation, all proceeds from Big September went directly towards surgical equipment and consumables for Surgeons for Little Lives at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital — the largest hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, and a lifeline for thousands of children in need of life-saving operations.

Each month, a small team of just five paediatric surgeons performed over 200 operations — from delicate neonatal procedures to urgent life-saving interventions. These surgeries were only possible with specialised equipment and consumables which, in many cases, were not available at public hospitals.

That’s where Big September made a difference. Thanks to your support, the funds raised helped support 5,763 paediatric surgeries touching the lives of hundreds of young children who now have hope for a brighter, healthier future.
