The Star Foundation kicked off the year 2024 with a Back-to-School initiative for two schools in Limpopo and one in Mpumalanga province. The initiative focuses on assisting the disadvantaged schools with the necessary school supplies to help kickstart the year.
School supplies include workbooks, toilet paper, printing paper and medical supplies for the school clinic.
The three schools to benefit from this initiative are: Khayalanga Pre-Primary School - Early Development Centre (ECD) in Mpumalanga, Ben Hlongwane Secondary School and Sedibeng Special School both from Limpopo.
KHAYALANGA PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL (EARLY DEVELOPMENT CENTRE): MPUMALANGA
Khayalanga Pre-Primary School is an Early Development Centre in Mpumalanga providing early childhood development programmes to children from birth to the ages 7 years. They needed assistance with 140 Grade R workbooks, which the Star Foundation donated to the school.
BEN HLONGWANE SECONDARY SCHOOL: LIMPOPO
Ben Hlongwane Secondary School is situated in rural Limpopo and needs assistance with toilet paper and printing paper for the learners. To assist the school, the Star Foundation donated toilet paper and printing paper.
SEDIBENG SPECIAL SCHOOL: LIMPOPO
Sedibeng Special School is a school for children with special needs in Limpopo. The school needs assistance with supplies for the school clinic such as - oxygen cylinders, examination beds, suction machines, ear nose throat examination sets and ear syringes. The Star Foundation donated all the supplies needed for the school clinic.
Overall, a donation of R76,000 was made by The Star Foundation which will go towards the necessary school supplies for the schools mentioned above.
